Embodied Regulation Method™ (ERM™) is a practitioner training system designed for bodyworkers, massage therapists, yoga therapists, somatic practitioners, energy workers, and other professionals who work with the body as a pathway toward greater regulation, awareness, and resilience.
Rooted in both Eastern and Western approaches to the body and nervous system, ERM™ brings together therapeutic touch, breath, movement, sound, body awareness, craniosacral techniques, contract-and-release techniques, marma therapy, Thai massage principles, Somatic EMDR-informed approaches, and other embodied practices into a cohesive, practitioner-led framework.
At the heart of the method is a simple philosophy:
Sense. Soften. Integrate.
Rather than asking the body to simply “calm down,” ERM™ teaches practitioners to create conditions in which clients can become more aware of their internal experience, develop greater capacity to stay present with sensation, and support the body’s natural movement toward regulation and integration.
Embodied Regulation Method™ is not intended to replace the practitioner's existing modality. Instead, it provides a framework for bringing nervous-system awareness and embodied regulation into the work they already do.
Through progressive training, practitioners learn how to work with the client's felt sense—the subtle, internal experience of sensation, breath, tension, movement, emotion, and presence—and how to thoughtfully support the client without forcing an outcome.
The ERM™ training program is designed to develop both practical skill and embodied understanding, allowing practitioners to move beyond simply knowing about nervous-system regulation and begin experiencing what it means to facilitate regulation through the body.
The Embodied Regulation Method™ training program offers a progressive pathway for practitioners who want to deepen their understanding and application of embodied regulation.
Beginning with the Foundations Training, practitioners are introduced to the philosophy, principles, language, assessment concepts, and core practices of ERM™. From there, continued training allows practitioners to develop greater confidence, refinement, and depth in their facilitation.
Whether you are a massage therapist looking to bring a more somatic approach to your sessions, a yoga therapist wanting to expand your nervous-system toolkit, or an experienced bodyworker seeking a cohesive framework for working with regulation and integration, ERM™ offers a practical and experiential path forward.
This is where nervous-system education meets embodied practice.
