Crystal is the lead instructor at Somatic Temple, teaching all things belly dance. Born and raised in the Canadian prairies, Crystal was raised in a home filled with a love for music and dance, and has trained and competed in both. Crystal has trained in ballet, jazz, tap, and then found a love for fusion belly dance. Traveling annually to Portland, OR, Crystal continues to train with her mentor, Rachel Brice, to ensure her technique, teaching skills, and dance ethics remain current.
Crystal is the owner of Somatic Temple, and provides services in Massage Therapy, Yoga Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Dance Therapy.
Rebecca is our beautiful Bollywood instructor, who's classes focus on building confidence, encouraging creativity, and developing technical skills through a blend of traditional and contemporary choreography. Born and raised in Pakistan, Rebecca immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of 12. Exploring the dance scene in Calgary allowed Rebecca to train with various instructors in several genres of dance, including hip hop, house, voguing, whacking, dancehall, afrobeats, and heels. We are honoured to welcome Rebecca to share the dynamic and expressive art form of Bollywood and its rich cultural heritage.
Andrea is a high-energy dance teacher who mixes belly dance, burlesque, hip hop, salsa, theatrical dance, rock fusion, and contemporary into a bold, empowering blend of movement. As the leader of the sassy dance troupe Read My Hips in Ponoka, she knows how to light up a stage—and a studio. Now shaking things up in Red Deer, she’s launching a dance fitness class that blends all her favourite styles in a fitness class, with the addition of a burlesque/belly dance fusion choreography that’s built for performance and packed with fun. Andrea is excited to dance with you and help you sway, slay, and unleash your inner showstopper.
Karin has been a dancer her whole life, Her parents were dancers, and from a young age she has loved dancing.
She has trained and performed in Latin American, BellyDance, Polynesian and other ethnic rhythms.
She has also studied Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, hip hop, modern and ballroom.
She thrives on learning new dance rhythms and styles; she continues to expand her dance portfolio by taking classes and workshops. Being a student of dance brings her joy.
Her passion is helping others experience the joy and freedom one feels when dancing.

Amber discovered yoga at 16 as an anchor for anxiety—a relationship that deepened after loss, leading to her RYT 200 certification. For 15+ years, she’s guided students in gentle, restorative movement to navigate life’s storms.
When Long COVID left her without answers, she turned to EFT, Ayurveda, and holistic nutrition—healing herself, then certifying to help others. Now a Holistic Practitioner and Life Coach, she bridges yoga, nervous system regulation, and soul-centered wellness.
Our bodies begin to hold trauma at a fairly early age - in fact, many of us have trauma we aren't even aware of. This trapped trauma can be released in many different ways, depending on how the trauma initially occurred.
Our classes at Somatic Temple are focused on movement styles that balance and cleanse our Sacral Chakra. We relearn how to undulate our bodies to physically ebb and flow with the waves of life. We re-establish our connection with our hearts and our bodies. Learn to embrace sensuality without a need to sexualize.
Here at the Temple we teach the highly coveted Datura Style(TM) Belly Dance format which addresses both structured and improvised movement. Our fitness classes follow the Bellyfit (R) format, with a focus on Bellyfit FLOW(R).
